It was misty; a thick fog covered the meadows. Tendrils curled around the hooves of the lone mare, grasping at her limbs. Standing there, wide eyed and afraid, Chiku snorted to the quickly filling emptiness. Fog like this was never a good sign; it was early morning, and already the meadow had vanished under its cover. She pawed at the ground lightly, small bits of dirt sent flying with the motion as she felt her nerves fraying. She hadn't encountered any predators as of yet, but given that her sights were down, she knew that anything could happen at this point.
Beasts and monsters of all sorts lurked in the shadows, she knew that much. They waited for the weak and unsuspecting to wander too close to them, too far from safety. Without a second glance, they snatched them away, stealing the lives of only those purest of heart. Or, so the legends told. Chiku had heard them hundreds of times over, and had even been the one to do the telling. Each time, the horrors of the story became more vivid in her mind, and the firm belief she held in their being fact was more strongly held. This fog was just another way for them to get at the souls of those they found to be the least tainted.
I ain't afraid of you! She snapped at the thin wisps, stomping the ground and flicking her head back. Go ahead and try to take me, I dare you! Despite the brave face she put on, there was still a slight quiver to her voice. What really lurked out there? What beasts roamed this place? Snorting again, she began to slowly walk through the mist, her ears and eyes alert. She'd find out, soon enough.

Devil walked through the meadow, hating fog, when the snap of a horse caught his attention "I ain't afraid of you!" It called, adding "Go ahead, try to take me, I dare you!" There was a quiver to the voice. He figured it was a mare, but he wondered if such a mare would be suiting. He decided that the mare may just be supersticious, or she may have sensed him, though he doubted it. He walked towards the sound, straining his eyes to see. He nearly bumped into the small mare. Backing up a bit, he blinked. "Hello dear, I'm Devil who are you?" He asked, politely, using fake charm, honestly he could care less about the mare's name, but some mares found that rude, and so he asked it to keep them from thinking him a bad stallion long enough to claim them.

The Devil. Just who she wanted to see. What with hell on earth surrounding her, it was oddly fitting. He asked her name, but she found herself standing there, gawking for a small time. This stallion was tall, dark, and brooding. His eyes held a mischievous gleam to them, while at the same time looking disinterested. Her ears twitched slightly and her back shivered. Had she since died some time ago? Chiku. She finally managed to squeak out, finding some composure coming back to her. All at once, she suddenly began to feel very...self conscious. This was a lone stallion, and she knew what they typically went after. She straightened her posture, trying to muster up what little feminine charm she held.
What brings you here, er, Devil? She asked, her mouth bumbling around the strange name. It was strange, yet oddly suiting. This tall arabian was dark and decidedly demonic in appearance. His coat a sooty black, his eyes a captivating dark brown. It was as if he could take her soul then and there. Perhaps he was the monster in the shadows that had come to take her away. But with one as handsome as he, she almost wouldn't mind it.

Devil watched the mare, she seemed to be terrified when he appeared, yep, she was supersticious. His dark, likely demonic seeming appearance obviously didn't help. She replied. "Chiku." And despite only half listening at the moment, he began to ponder it. He had recall of ever hearing it until now, and when she asked. "What brings you here er Devil?" He smiled. "What brings most every stallion newly starting a herd here. What might bring a mare so nice as yourself to a place like this?" So he might have been laying it a bit deep with the short, almost pony-like mare. Personally, he thought that the only thing very admirable about her appearance was her pelt, other than that, her body was compact, her legs too long, her neck too short, although her head looked nice. But she didn't seem to be bad otherwise.

He smiled a smile that she knew did not mean what smiles normally did. This stallion was wicked, and evil. He had to be. Or did he? Chiku bumbled over the words to say to him, her mind half racing over whether or not she could trust her superstitions this time or whether or not she should tell him she was just out for a stroll or actually looking for a home. I-I She began, her eyes darting about, as if looking for a cheat sheet to go off of. I. Don't know...She finally managed to blurt out, her head drooping a little. I have no idea why I'm here. I have no where else to go, I guess. She shrugged it off slightly, at this point not caring what happened between herself and the Devil horse.

Devil frowned at her, the way she looked at him told him enough. He looked her over carefully, if he did anything, she wasn't really game to attack, so he decided to not notice her hesitation. He wanted a mare, and was willing to work with supersticion, to a point, although this was silly, dim-witted, and useless, then the idea came to him, using her supersticion to his advantage would work...hopefully. "Well, Chiku, it is generally not safe to come here in the thick fog when the predators and monsters range, waiting for an unaware target, and something so small as yourself may have trouble fighting any number of them off. If you follow me, I can guide you out of this dangerous area safely to my home. Which I would most advise especially if you have nowhere else to go." He said, acting quite concerned.

((Unless he's psychic, or has the power to break the fourth wall, Devil shouldn't be offended or even know that she thinks him to be evil. She didn't ever say that he was xD Taking player knowledge into character knowledge, which is generally a no no))

((I understand, and I just changed it to the amount of knowledge he could gain just by looking, if you believe differently, then just tell me, and I can change it to less.))
